The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Zurich invites applications for a


Assistant Professorship
in Medical Physics in Radiation Oncology


The position is limited to six years and reports to Radiation Oncology, but a connection to
Medical Physics in the entire Department of Medical Radiology is envisioned.
We are looking for a young and dynamic individual at an early stage in his/her career, flexible
and willing to establish a new area of clinical research. Recognized skills in developing and
leading independent research projects are expected.
Candidates should have a track record in the field of medical physics, image processing or
analysis. Ideally the candidate is active in the field of image guided radiation therapy, adaptive
radiation therapy and automated radiation therapy planning. An intense exchange between
science and patient care is envisioned as well as collaborations with the Paul Scherrer Institute.
Due to the highly interdisciplinary character of the position the following qualifications should
be met:
– Excellent social skills and the ability to work in a complex environment
– Interdisciplinary networking with translational research prospects
– Commitment to teaching and promotion of young clinicians and researchers
– «Habilitation» or comparable achievements
